Creating stories can be a difficult challenge for children, but a great way to encourage the process is to promise publishing their work to show to a wider audience. Sharing the work and publishing has proven to be a great motivator when pupils know that their final will be seen by parents, grandparents, friends and family. With the introduction of many schools using tablets in the classroom, this has become easier to achieve and less laborious for the teacher.
There are a couple of apps that help achieve this, but today we focus on My Story Book Maker, featured in our EduApps page, and priced at £2.49*
Aimed at young learners, the app provides a simple canvas, with great tools for drawing including the ability to add stickers, audio, photos and text. The app also allows for great classroom management with the facility to include multiple authors and the ability to synchronise across devices.
Publishing the final work is key, and this app allows sharing via the Web, Email, Facebook, Twitter and to anyone on any device or computer! You can also publish your story book to iBooks (and other apps that can read ePub files) and read your book alongside other books from the iBookStore at any time!
