Resource: Google adds Shakespeare UK Map

Google have released an overlay map to their popular Google Maps, depicting the map of the UK, based on John Speed’s map “The Kingdome of Great Britaine” from his 1611 atlas “Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine.”

The map, published in 1964 shows the settings of plays and various points of interest throughout England, Wales, and Scotland. Google have placed the map over their own UK Map, allowing pupils to explore various setting and features from the map using the zoom or location box. It is also possible to purchase a printed version of the map from art.com.

You can view the map overlay on Google Maps by clicking here.
