Session 240: PSHE & Citizenship Subject Special

Hosted by @HecticTeacher - Thursday 19th February 2015

Tonight – along with @HecticTeacher – #UKEdChat focused on the subjects PSHE and Citizenship in the latest of our 2014/2015 Subject Specials.

PSHECitizenshipSpecialThe aim of these sessions is to allow teachers to exchange ideas, resources or challenges that they face teaching these subjects and asked the following questions:

  1. Should PSHE and Citizenship be taught in combined classes/programmes?
  2. PSHE/Citizenship collapsed Curriculum Days: Good, bad or ugly? Why?
  3. Should citizenship be assessed in the same way as other foundation subjects?
  4. Should PSHE be assessed AT ALL?
  5. Tutors or dedicated teams: Which is better suited for teaching PSHE and citizenship?
  6. Who should teach about Digital Citizenship? IT people? Citizenship people? Or all subjects?

The summary will follow, but in the meantime, read through the Storify from the session
