Speakers included:

  • Charles Leadbeater

A leading authority on innovation, strategy and education, Charles has also been a senior advisor to many Governments and the European Commission.

  • Educating Essex’s Vic Goddard, Principal of Passmores Academy

Council-estate born and raised, Vic has worked his way up through the system from a PE teacher via Head of Department and a brief stint in Cairo, to being one of the most high profile, controversial, innovative and bluntly passionate heads we have met.

  • Brian Lightman, General Secretary, ASCL

Brian will talk about the big picture, giving an overview of Government policy implications relating to Secondary, with a particular focus on assessment and qualifications.

  • Sir Andrew Carter O.B.E, Headteacher of South Farnham School

Sir Andrew will talk about Life after levels: the role of standardised assessments in the new national curriculum.

  • Andrew Day, Executive Director of the NCEA

Andrew will give an overview of new assessment models for life after levels with a particular focus on primary.
