-Sample test materials are available to help teachers prepare for the 2016 national curriculum tests for pupils at the end of key stages 1 and 2.
The sample tests reflect changes to the new curriculum which was introduced in 2014. Pupils at the end of key stages 1 and 2 (aged 7 and 11) in May 2016 will be assessed for the first time against the new curriculum, which has been taught in all local authority maintained primary schools in England, from September 2014.
The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) has published a full set of sample questions and materials to help teachers understand the changes to the tests.
The materials:
illustrate new question types
show how some of the new curriculum content will be assessed
include mark schemes
STA is based within the Department for Education and is responsible for statutory testing and assessment for pupils up to 14.
