UKEdMag: Why Teachers Should Enjoy Parents Evening by @teacherswords1

So often I hear teachers dreading the arrival of parents evening. Yet for me I find parents evening extremely rewarding and I believe you should to. If you have been teaching your students well, on the most part, parents evening will be a chance for parents to thank you for your hard work. Parents evening gives me the opportunity to discuss with parents how my teaching is effecting my students behind the scenes. I usually give a little bit of time explaining to parents my teaching strategies to better help them understand what I am aiming to achieve. With the parents on-board I find parents evening not just a time to celebrate student’s success but also the success of my teaching. A simple change in your mindset when approaching parent’s evenings will make a World of difference. Teachers don’t always get the recognition they deserve so why not think of parents evening as your opportunity to get it? @teacherswords1 Science Teacher – Maidenhead
