
With a greater focus on accessibility and inclusivity, Microsoft has announced ten major updates to their services available in 2019, that can have a positive impact on using their tools for teaching and learning. In a blog post, Mike Tholsfen highlighted how the Immersive Reader technology, along with Line Focus in Microsoft Word, and an even more impressive feature of being able to change page colours in Word desktop.
A full list of the learning features being made available to Microsoft products in 2019 includes:
- Translate comes to the Immersive Reader
- Immersive Reader reading the Math Assistant’s Step-by-Step solutions
- Immersive Reader maths and equation support in Word Online
- The modern Immersive Reader interface comes to OneNote Desktop Learning Tools
- Word Desktop Line Focus
- Page Colours in Word Desktop
- Parts of Speech and Picture Dictionary support for Korean
- Picture Dictionary support for Italian, Polish and Portuguese
- OneNote Online Dictation fully rolled out, Word Online Dictation rollout 50% and growing
- Automatic Language detection
