Flipped learning is just for students right? Wrong! It can be adapted and used for staff every day to reduce workload, create efficient meetings and generate the kinds of teaching and learning conversations that change young peoples lives. The idea is simple… create a habit from September in sending out details before meetings, training or even before a lesson observation. For example, pre-read the agenda to a meeting and choose one item to share with others or read action research projects before a staff CPD day.
It can then grow into staff setting up Teams or Chat forums to talk things through before a meeting and share findings in a more collaborative and efficient way… goodbye to long meetings where someone talks at you for an hour with no one remembering anything! Consider cognitive load theory and reduce the delivery, focusing on what people have brought with them… fun meetings here we come.
