 Education is involved in a period of technological change. The recent developments in technology provide great opportunities for educators, including student/tutor collaboration, online peer to peer learning and both summative and formative assessment options.

PosCompulsory Education and Training at Northumbricontinues to embrace these new technologies and havcarried out some interesting research into the uses of ouchosen technologies. Investigation has been undertaken with regard to providing a more strategic approach tonline learning, teaching and assessment.

These new technologies allow informationcommunication, social interaction and learninopportunities to be created, developed and implementemuch more easily than previous technical architecture.

Technology is transforming the way people do business, access information and connect with each other. It harevolutionised the way we are entertained and altered the way we learn by providing an opportunity for much more personalised learning approach. Technologis no longer simply something for the consumption of information, it is predominantly used for the creation of it.
